Etymology: Latin lancea, like a spear, allusive to the form of the dark brown sutural stripe in the elytra.
Male: Integument dark brown. Pubescence predominantly grayish brown. Pubescence dark brown as follows: pronotum with a broad median longitudinal stripe and two narrower each side of the middle, the median one continuous with an elytral sutural stripe spear-form with the acute point directed forward. Sides of the elytra with longitudinal lines formed by more or less agglomerate rounded spots. Ventral surface and legs covered with dense grayish pubescence.
Antennae attaining the apices of the elytra in the apex of the antennomere V. Sides of the prothorax with a subacute tubercle in the beginning of the posterior third. Pronotum with a single row of punctures parallel to the posterior border. Elitral apices obliquely truncate, external angle acute but not projected. Fifth urosternite slightly notched in the middle of the apex; fifth urosternite deeply trangularly emarginate in the distal extremity. Metatarsomere I as long as II+III.
Female: Ovipositor slightly projected beyond the elytral apices. Fifth urotergite acute in the distal extremity; fifth urosternite transversely truncate at apex.
Measurements (mm), male/female: Total length, 7,1/5,7-7,0; prothorax length, 1,4/1,2-1,5; prothorax width, 1,9/1,5-2,0; elytral length, 4,7/3,9-4,6; humeral width, 2,4/1,8-2,4.
Type material: Holotype male, PANAMA, Panama: km 8-13 El Llano-Carti Road , 10-13.V.1996, Wappes, Huether & Morris col. ( ACMT) . Paratypes: same data, female ( ACMT) , 2 females, 21-24.V.1996, ( ACMT, MNRJ) . Km 9 El Llano-Carti Road, female, 18.V.1993, E.G. Riley col. ( ACMT) .
Comments: The pronotum and elytra ornamented with a neat spear-like longitudinal stripe allow us to recognize the species.
