Synonyms: Macaca ecaudatus (É. Geoffroy 1812) ; Macaca inuus ( Linnaeus 1766) ; Macaca pithecus (Schreber 1799) ; Macaca pygmaeus (Reichenbach 1863) .

Distribution: Morocco, Algeria, Gibraltar (introduced).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Vulnerable.
