Lectotype (Powell in Brittonia 17: 80. 1965): Houstoun, Herb. Clifford: 418, Tridax 1 (BM-000647229) .

Generitype of Tridax Linnaeus.

Current name: Tridax procumbens L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Although Brown (in Trans. Linn. Soc. London 12: 103. 1818) noted the absence of material in LINN and said that Clifford’s specimen " is the only authority for the genus", this does not constitute formal typification.
