Malaconothrus egregius was recorded from grassland at Rothamsted Experimental Station, Harpenden , Hertfordshire by Evans GoogleMaps (1952). The slide-mount of this specimen from this locality has been relabelled ' monodactylus ', which is indeed the correct identification.
