Type locality.

Caldwell County, Texas, USA; stratum: uncertain; age: Eocene.

Type material.

Syntype, ANSP IP13267, 1 shell (as “type” in Richards 1968: 159).

New taxonomic status.

Volvulella minutissima (Gabb, 1860), new comb. Harris (1895b) considered the species valid. The genus Volvulella Newton, 1891 is a replacement name for Volvula A. Adams, 1850 non Gistel, 1848 ( Valdés 2008).
