Lectotype (first step, designated by Berg & DeWolf 1975; second step, designated here): — MEXICO. Oaxaca, near Tehuantepec, Hacienda de Santa Cruz , December 1842, Liebmann 14309 (lectotype: C10009197 !; isolectotypes: C10009196 !, P00756588 !).

Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue is not stated the name of the collector, the number and the herbarium where the type of Urostigma baccatum was deposited. Hemsley (1883) was the first to clarify that the type was collected by Liebmann. Berg & DeWolf (1975) selected the material Liebmann 14309 preserved in the C herbarium as a lectotype (in the work as “type”, Art. 7.11). However, there are two duplicates in this herbarium ( C10009196 and C10009197 ) without a label indicating that one is part of the other, therefore, they are duplicates and it will be necessary to choose the final lectotype (Art. 8.3). Here we chose the specimen with the barcode C10009197 as the lectotype because it contains stem, stipule, leaves and syconia with ostiole preserved. The protologue does not describe the collection date, but the types report that it was carried out on December 1842 .

Taxonomical note:— Ficus baccata was synonymized by Berg & Villavicencio (2004), Carvajal (2012) and Pelissari et al. (2019) as Ficus pertusa .
