Material examined. 0/5/0, Pond between Kaeng Krachan and Tha Yang , Phetchaburi Province, 12° 56.131ʹ N, 99° 48.543ʹ E, alt. 11 m a.s.l., 30-xi-2007, leg H. Smit.

Remarks. Cook (1967) described a similar species from India. i.e. H. karekari Cook, 1967 . According to Lundblad (1969), the figures of Koenike (1906) are not reliable, and Cook’s species must be synonymized with H. falcipalpis . It is likely that this species of standing waters is widespread, and therefore we follow Lundblad (1969). The present record is new for the fauna of Thailand. Thus far, it has been reported from Oriental region only, namely Java, India, Burma and Thailand (present study).
