Pontederie (Abbildung S. 500)
Im Schlamm kriechendes Rhizom vorhanden. Stengel aufrecht, mit 1 gestielten Blatt. Blütenstand eine vielblütige Ähre. Blüten blau, deutlich 2lippig, mit 3teiliger Oberlippe und 3teiliger Unterlippe. Staubblätter 6. Frucht 1samig.
Die Gattung umfaßt 3 Arten in Nord- und Südamerika.
