Type Locality: Brazil, Pará (restricted by Husson, 1962).

Vernacular Names: Fringe-lipped Bat.

Distribution: Oaxaca ( Mexico) to Guianas, SE Brazil, Bolivia and Ecuador; Trinidad.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
