Material examined. Galarza RS: 4 ♂, 1 ♀, Isirí Stream near Luna Lagoon, sample 6, 17.iv.2013.

General distribution. Paraguay (?), Argentina ( Bachmann 1979).

Habitat. Little information exists regarding the habitat associations of Tenagobia selecta tarahui . Bachmann (1979) described this subspecies from Corrientes Province ( Argentina), based on specimens collected in La Totora Lagoon in association with submerged vegetation (mainly Egeria sp. ). It has been found in association with Egeria najas (Poi de Neiff 1979) and Pontederia crassipes ( Poi de Neiff & Carignan 1997; Poi de Neiff & Neiff 2006).

Tenagobia selecta tarahui was previously recorded from Iberá in association with Egeria najas ( Poi de Neiff 2003) . It was collected from the margins of the Iberá Lagoon in shallow waters with emergent and floating vegetation (Estévez et al. 2003). During the present study, only a few specimens were collected from the vegetated margins of the Isirí Stream.

Remarks. This subspecies was collected together with T. incerta .
