Nomina dubia View in CoL

The condition of the type specimens is not given for the species of Micromyinae in the list that follows. Those specimens were studied by Jaschhof (2010) and returned separately to ANIC.

adusta Skuse, 1888: 82 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Woronora (Masters and Skuse). October”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its head and abdomen. Skuse (1890: 378) corrected himself and stated that his original type was a female and not a male, but that is not possible to check now. He then described the male on the basis of additional dried specimens still in the Skuse pinned collection in ANIC but we cannot determine now that they are the same species as his original specimen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

albulipennis Skuse, 1890: 378 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Syntypes, male(s) and female(s), “ Sydney (Skuse); Dunoon , Richmond River , NSW (Helms); Burpengary, near Brisbane, Queensland (Dr. T. L. Bancroft), one specimen in Coll . Queensland Museum. February to April.” In ANIC, we found three specimens: one labelled “ Dunoon " and two without locality data, none of the three with its abdomen. The specimen collected at Burpengary is not part of the Queensland Museum collection, and is presumably lost. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

amplipennis Skuse, 1888: 142 View in CoL , Campylomyza View in CoL . Declared a nomen dubium by Jaschhof (2010: 37) View Cited Treatment . No insects were attached to the pins in NHMW.

araneosa Skuse, 1888: 82 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Skuse). October “, in ANIC . In the original description the type is stated as male but Skuse (1890: 378) corrected himself and wrote that his original type was a female. The mounted holotype retains its wings, shrivelled postabdomen that appears barely protrusible, with two large cerci, one 4-segmented palpus, one antenna with 12 flagellomeres, but no legs. It belongs to the Cecidomyiidi but lacks distinctive morphological characters on preserved body parts to place it further. This species was moved to “ Unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL ” in Gagné (2004). We now consider it a nomen dubium. New status.

ardens Skuse, 1888: 75 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Sydney (Skuse). January“, in ANIC. The pinned specimen lacks its head and abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

aurata Skuse, 1888: 129 View in CoL , Lasioptera View in CoL . Holotype male, “Middle Harbour (Skuse). September”, in ANIC. The mounted specimen retains its terminalia and a claw and fits Lasioptera View in CoL , but does not show special characters to distinguish it from other congeners. We consider this species a nomen dubium. New status.

bellula Skuse, 1888: 87 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Peat’s Ferry (Masters and Skuse)“, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

bombycina Skuse, 1888: 79 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Sydney (Skuse)“, in ANIC. Only parts of wings and legs remain of the pinned type. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

brevipennis Skuse, 1888: 71 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Elizabeth Bay (Masters). December“, in ANIC. The mounted type retains its wings, antennae with 12 binodal flagellomeres bearing one circumfilum on proximal and two on distal node, partially shrivelled head with occipital protuberance, 4-segmented palpi, simple tarsal claws, empodia as long as claws, pulvilli half length of claws, shrivelled terminalia with simple gonocoxites bearing no mediobasal lobes, distally tapered aedeagus and basally microtrichose gonostyli. It belongs to Cecidomyiidi but it has damaged terminalia and lacks distinctive morphological characters on other body parts to compare it to males from other genera and species. Moved to "Unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL " in Gagné (2004: 275), we now consider this species a nomen dubium. New status.

brevitata Gagné, 1989: 161 View in CoL , Cecidomyia View in CoL , new name for Cecidomyia (Diplosis) abbreviata Skuse 1888: 75 View in CoL by Gagné (1989b). Preoccupied by Cecidomyia abbreviata Waltl 1837: 279 View in CoL . Holotype female, “Sydney (Skuse). November“, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks the abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

caeca Skuse, 1888: 76 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “ Elizabeth Bay (Skuse)“, in ANIC . Only legs of the pinned type remain. Skuse (1890: 377) identified five further specimens as this species: “Five old specimens recently found in the collection of the late Mr. W. S. Macleay belong to this species [ Cecidomyia (Diplosis) caeca ], and are labelled “ Cecidomyia muscorum ”; on dead insects, N.S.W. I know nothing of this habit from personal observation.”. We have not found these specimens in ANIC. “ Cecidomyia muscorum ” was placed with nomina nuda by Gagné (2004: 286). Cecidomyia caeca was added to nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

certa Skuse, 1888: 100 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Woronora (Masters and Skuse)”, in ANIC. The abdomen of the pinned type is partly destroyed. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

cineraria Skuse, 1888: 106 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Woronora, Sydney (Masters and Skuse). October”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its antennae and abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

conferta Skuse, 1888: 118 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Masters)”, in ANIC. Only part of a leg remains of the type. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

confinis Skuse, 1888: 70 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Sydney (Skuse). January“, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its antennae and abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

conspecta Skuse, 1888: 91 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Richmond , Hawkesbury district (Skuse). January ”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

contigua Skuse, 1888: 103 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Wheeny Creek , Hawkesbury district (Skuse). January ”, in ANIC. No specimen remains attached to the pinned card. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

corusca Skuse, 1888: 131 View in CoL , Lasioptera View in CoL . Syntype males, “Gosford (Skuse). February”, in ANIC. Of six males three are substantially damaged and left pinned, three were mounted. Mounted specimens have most characters preserved but lack special characters to distinguish them from other Lasioptera View in CoL males. We place this species here with nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

crocea Skuse, 1888: 136 View in CoL , Campylomyza View in CoL . Declared a nomen dubium by Jaschhof (2010: 37) View Cited Treatment .

dibapha Skuse, 1888: 98 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Syntype females, “ Illawarra district (Masters and Skuse); Coogee Bay (Skuse). September ”, in ANIC . Of the two pinned specimens in ANIC, we did not mount the one from Coogee Bay as it lacks its head and abdomen and has a wing colour pattern different from the other. The syntype from Illawarra district , which we mounted, retains all body parts except the tarsi. Assigned to unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 276), it belongs to Contarinia View in CoL but lacks distinctive morphological characters to distinguish it from other congeneric females. We declare it a nomen dubium. New status.

difficilis Skuse, 1888: 63 , Cecidomyia View in CoL . Holotype female, “Elizabeth Bay (Masters). Beginning of January”, in ANIC. The mounted type specimen has preserved wings, damaged head capsule, 4-segmented palpi, antennae with 11 flagellomeres, the terminal twice as long as others, toothed tarsal claws, empodia as long as claws, preserved terminalia with eighth tergite split into two longitudinal sclerites, remaining body parts missing. This species belongs to Dasineura View in CoL but lacks distinctive morphological traits to separate it from congeneric females. We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

discedens Skuse, 1888: 93 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Masters)”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its head and abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

distenta Skuse, 1888: 115 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Skuse). Beginning of December ”, in ANIC. The type has shrivelled antennae and collapsed terminalia. It belongs to Porricondylinae View in CoL but cannot be compared unambigiously to other species. Assigned to unplaced Porricondylinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 63). We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

erronea Skuse, 1888: 94 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Sydney (Skuse). End of November”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen and the collection data label. Assigned to unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 277). Here we declare it a nomen dubium as the type cannot be properly compared to females of other species. New status.

exigua Skuse, 1888: 122 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype male [considered a female by Skuse], “ Glenbrook , Blue Mountains (Masters)”, in ANIC. The type has shrivelled terminalia. It belongs to Porricondylinae View in CoL but cannot be compared unambigiously to other species. Assigned to unplaced Porricondylinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 63). We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

faceta Skuse, 1888: 81 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Sydney (Skuse)“, in ANIC. The type is missing from its pinned card. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

fallax Skuse, 1888: 85 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Woronora Masters and Skuse)”, not in ANIC, presumed lost. Skuse (1890: 382) declared Cecidomyia (Diplosis) fallax a junior synonym of C. negotiosa , which itself can no longer be identified. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

flammula Skuse, 1888: 124 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Asynapta) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Sydney (Masters)”, in ANIC. The end of the abdomen of the pinned type is destroyed. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 283).

frequens Skuse, 1888: 99 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Syntypes, male and female, “Elizabeth Bay (Masters and Skuse). End of December”, in ANIC. Both types were mounted. The male has wings, head with 4-segmented palpi and occipital protuberance but without flagellomeres, legs with simple claws as long as empodia, and distorted terminalia with aedeagus missing. The female has all parts preserved, but with the ovipositor inside the abdomen and not properly examinable. This species was assigned to unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 277). It belongs to Contarinia View in CoL but the types lack distinctive morphological characters on preserved body parts that can distinguish them from congeners. We place it with nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

furva Skuse, 1888: 90 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Middle Harbour (Skuse)”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

gibberosa Skuse, 1888: 123 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Masters)”, in ANIC. Although Skuse described a “specimen” the pinned type card bears two specimens but neither has an abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

gibbula Skuse, 1888: 67 , Cecidomyia View in CoL . Holotype female, “Middle Harbour (Skuse) “, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

gilva Skuse, 1888: 93 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Gosford (Skuse)”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks the abdomen and antennae. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

Gonioclema Skuse, 1888: 60 View in CoL , as subgenus of Cecidomyi a. Type species, Cecidomyia pauxillula Skuse, 1888 (monotypy). Skuse (1888: Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ) illustrated the wing showing R4+5 straight and joining C at wing apex, Rs closer to distal end of R1 than arculus, Cu simple and fading apically, wingfold fading basally and apically. He described female flagellomeres as subcylindrical, 11 in number. The description is ambiguous and the holotype has been mostly destroyed by insects (see Cecidomyia pauxillula listing in nomina dubia View in CoL ). Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 282).

gracilis Skuse, 1888: 117 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL : see listing of Porricondyla skusei Kieffer. View in CoL

grandipennis Skuse, 1890: 384 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “ Mossman’s Bay , near Sydney (Skuse). One specimen in September ”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its antennae and abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

helvipes Skuse, 1888: 132 View in CoL , Lasioptera View in CoL . Holotype female [mistaken for male by Skuse], “Sydney (Masters)”, in ANIC. Female mounted: all body parts present except for legs, but ovipositor is shrivelled inside collapsed remains of abdomen; hooked setae, typical for Lasioptera View in CoL , are present on cerci but their number and position are obscured. No other characters will allow one to distinguish the type from congeneric females. We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

helmsi Skuse, 1890: 379 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Syntypes, males and females, “ Dunoon , Richmond River , NSW (Helms). Twenty-two specimens in March and April ”, in ANIC. The pinned types are all largely destroyed and none bears an abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

humilis Skuse, 1888: 95 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Syntypes, male and female, “ Wheeny Creek , Hawkesbury district (Skuse). January ”, in ANIC. Of the three pinned specimens glued to one card none retains its head or abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

indotata Skuse, 1888: 107 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Middle Harbour (Skuse). In November”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

loewi Skuse, 1888: 108 , Cecidomyia (Asphondylia) View in CoL . Holotype male [mistaken for female by Skuse (1888)], “Como (Masters and Skuse). September”, in ANIC. The pinned type is a male, a probable Asphondylia View in CoL , whose abdomen could have appeared to be that of a female to Skuse but it now lacks its head and can never be identified with certainty. Skuse (1890: 382) later described a male which he associated with this species, but that specimen is presumably lost. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

lucida Skuse, 1888: 73 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Woronora (Masters and Skuse)”, in ANIC. The pinned specimen lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

lutulenta Skuse, 1888: 110 , Cecidomyia (Hormomyia) View in CoL . Holotype male, “ Elizabeth Bay (Skuse)”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

macella Skuse, 1888: 121 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Sydney (Skuse)”, in ANIC. Nothing remains of the pinned type on the card. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

macleayi Skuse, 1888: 97 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Woronora (Masters and Skuse). October; in caves”, in ANIC. The mounted type retains a wing, head with 4-segmented palpi, occipital protuberance, antenna with 12 barrel-shaped flagellomeres, slightly narrowed at midlength, circumfila as sparse network of low loops, legs with claws (large, toothed, bent at basal third, empodia reaching bend in claws) and terminalia with large cerci bearing long simple setae and wide hyporoct with pair of short setae. This species was assigned to unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 279). It belongs to Cecidomyiidi but the type lacks special morphological characters that would distinguish it from other species. We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

magnifica Skuse, 1888: 116 , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “ Elizabeth Bay (Masters). January ”, in ANIC. The type has shrivelled terminalia. It belongs to Porricondylinae View in CoL but cannot be compared unambigiously to other species. Assigned to unplaced Porricondylinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 63). We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

mastersi Skuse, 1888: 127 View in CoL , Lasioptera View in CoL . Holotype female, “Woronora (Masters and Skuse). October”, in ANIC. The head and postabdomen of the pinned type are missing. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

mastersi Skuse, 1888: 59 View in CoL , Miastor View in CoL . Holotype male, “ Elizabeth Bay (Skuse). February ”, in ANIC. Nothing remains of the type on its card. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 64).

mollipes Skuse, 1888: 92 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Syntypes, male and female, “Sydney (Masters and Skuse)”, in ANIC. Neither type bears a locality label. We mounted both types. The male retains a wing, head with occipital protuberance, one palpus (with 4 segments), both antennae with scape and pedicel and first flagellomere on one (consisting of two nodes, one looped circumfilum on proximal and two on distal node), legs with claws (simple, thin, bent beyond midlength, longer than empodia), but is misssing the terminalia. The female has retained its wings, head with occipital protuberance, 4-segmented palpus, antennae with 12 flagellomeres, terminalia with large cercus (one missing). This species was assigned to unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 279). It belongs to Cecidomyiidi but the male type lacks terminalia and there are no special morphological characters on surviving body parts of either type that would distinguish it from other species. We place it here with nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

montana Skuse, 1888: 84 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Glenbrook (Masters). January“, in ANIC. Only legs of the pinned type remain. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

Necrophlebia Skuse, 1888: 111 , as subgenus of Cecidomyi a. Type species, Cecidomyia volitans Skuse, 1888 (monotypy). Skuse (1888: Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ) illustrated the wing showing R4+5 apically curved and joining C posteriad of the wing apex, Rs halfway between distal end of R1 and arculus, Cu simple and reaching wing margin, wingfold not visible. He described female flagellomeres as subcylindrical, 12 in number. This subgenus cannot be identified because the original description lacks important diagnostic characters and the pinned types of the only included species are damaged beyond recognition (see Cecidomyia volitans listing in nomina dubia View in CoL ). Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 282).

negotiosa Skuse, 1888: 104 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Syntypes, male and female, “ North Willoughby (Masters and Skuse). Beginning of December ”, in ANIC. Parts of eight pinned specimens without abdomens remain on four separate cards. Cecidomyia negotiosa placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

nobilis Skuse, 1888: 66 , Cecidomyia View in CoL . Holotype male, “Gosford (Skuse). February”, in ANIC. The pinned type lacks its abdomen. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

nubilipennis Skuse, 1890: 375 , Cecidomyia View in CoL . Holotype female [mistaken for male by Skuse], “ Elizabeth Bay , near Sydney (Skuse). October. A single specimen taken on a window”, in ANIC . The type lacks the head but retains the thorax with three legs, and the abdomen with terminalia. In Notes and Exhibits of the Linnean Society of NSW (Anonymous 1893) this species is commented on: “Mr. Froggatt exhibited specimens of the galls of Cecidomyia nubilipennis, Sk. , previously unrecorded, from Flemington [NSW], on the leaf-stalkes of Eucalyptus sideriphloia , and of the gnats bred therefrom”. Froggatt’s specimens were not found in ANIC. In view of the level of diagnostic capability at the time of Froggatt’s exhibition, we doubt that his specimens had more than a superficial resemblance to the holotype of C. nubilipennis that was taken on a window. This species was assigned to unplaced Cecidomyiinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 280). We note here that it belongs to Asphondylia View in CoL . Given that Asphondylia View in CoL females mostly lack diagnostic characters to allow comparison with congeners, we place C. nubilipennis with nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

obsoleta Skuse, 1888: 83 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Glenbrook (Masters). January”, in ANIC. Only legs of the pinned type remain. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 284).

opipara Skuse, 1888: 118 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Masters). January ”, in ANIC. The type lacks the ovipositor. It belongs to Porricondylinae View in CoL but cannot be compared unambigiously to other species. Assigned to unplaced Porricondylinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 63). We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

parietina Skuse, 1888: 125 , Cecidomyia (Asynapta) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Masters and Skuse). January ”, in ANIC. The abdomen of the pinned type is severely damaged. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 285).

parilis Skuse, 1888: 87 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Middle Harbour (Skuse)”, in ANIC. State of the holotype: wings well preserved; head shrivelled, one antenna with several flagellomeres present, palpi missing; only one mid- and one hindleg present; abdomen present with terminalia folded inside and details obscured. Skuse (1890: 380, Pl. XVI., Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 [ Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 h]) assigned to this species four females (mounted by us) that were “Bred from irregular-oval, reddish-brown blisters, 3 to 4 mm. long, having an ochreous-yellow or pale brownish slit (1 to 1½ mm. in length) in the middle; occurring very numerously on the upper side of the leaves of Eucalyptus corymbosa View in CoL , obtained by Mr. Froggatt, in November, at Weverly, near Sydney. The blisters extend through the leaf, being represented on the under side by very slightly raised brown patches. As many as forty or fifty blisters sometimes occur in one leaf; they are usually dispersed over the surface, but occasionally form clusters of three or four. It appears that the larvae abandon the blisters before assuming their next state; the presence of the longitudinal opening also supports this conclusion.” The four females taken from galls lack the terminalia but have well preserved heads with flagellomeres and wings, and one specimen has claws on at least one of each pair of legs. Their Rs vein lies midway between the arculus and the end of R1 and their claws are all toothed, unlike the holotype of C. parilis that has the Rs vein closer to the arculus and untoothed claws. Because of these differences it is clear that Skuse’s 1890 gall association was incorrect and the gallmaker of Eucalyptus corymbosa View in CoL remains unnamed. Cecidomyia parilis is assigned here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

paula Skuse, 1888: 74 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Skuse). End of January ”, in ANIC. Nothing remains of the pinned specimen on the card. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 285).

pauxillula Skuse, 1888: 61 , Cecidomyia (Gonioclema) View in CoL . Holotype female, “ Elizabeth Bay (Skuse). September ”, in ANIC. Only a wing and a fragment of the thorax remain of the pinned type. Placed with nomina dubia View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 285).

percita Skuse, 1888: 72 , Cecidomyia (Diplosis) View in CoL . Holotype female, “Elizabeth Bay (Skuse). December“, in ANIC. The mounted type retains the wings, one foreleg with toothed claws and empodium that is longer than the claws, shrivelled terminalia with evidently barely protrusible large cerci, head with 12 flagellomeres, occipital protuberance and 4-segmented palpi. It belongs to Cecidomyiidi but lacks distinctive morphological characters to compare it to females from other genera and species. We move it here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.

perexilis Skuse, 1888: 119 View in CoL , Cecidomyia (Epidosis) View in CoL . Holotype male, “Elizabeth Bay (Skuse)”, in ANIC. The terminalia of the type are too poorly displayed for examination. It belongs to Porricondylinae View in CoL but cannot be compared unambigiously to other species. Assigned to unplaced Porricondylinae View in CoL by Gagné (2004: 63), it is moved here to nomina dubia View in CoL . New status.
