TYPE SPECIES: Cervus campestris F. Cuvier, 1817 (= Cervus bezoarticus Linnaeus, 1758 View in CoL ).

SYNONYMS: Blastoceros, Ozelaphus.

COMMENTS: Ozotoceros is the name to be used for Blastoceros, Fitzinger, 1860 , if Blastoceros is regarded as an invalid emendation of Blastocerus ; see Hershkovitz (1958). Included in Odocoileus by Haltenorth (1963:46) and Bianchini and Delupi (1979); but see Groves and Grubb (1987).
