First faunistic record for Croatia: Graber 1870

Distribution in Croatia: Nominal subspecies only. Common and very abundant in the Pannonian region and the Dinaric Alps. Present in Istria and Dalmatia, but not common in the Mediterranean region. In numerous localities (e.g. Varaždin, Vinkovci) specimens have intermediate characters between C. dorsatus and C. dichrous —this should be studied in the future.

Distribution in Europe: From Spain to Eeastern European Russia and from Southern Italy (inhabited by endemic brachypterous subspecies) to Southern Sweden ( Hochkirch et al. 2016).
