Genus Melitoma Lepeletier & Serville View in CoL
Melitoma View in CoL comprises 11 species that are distributed from the United States to Argentina, with higher diversity in South America ( Moure, 2007; Schaller & Roig-Alsina, 2019). Two species groups ( ameghinoi View in CoL and segmentaria View in CoL ) can be recognized within the genus ( Roig-Alsina, 1999). Species of Melitoma View in CoL are oligolectic on species of the genus Ipomoea View in CoL ( Convolvulaceae View in CoL ), and possibly some species of Malvaceae View in CoL ( Oliveira & Engel, 2015; Schaller & Roig-Alsina, 2019).
