Distribution: Until now only known from the type locality; Paraguay: Puerto Bertoni ( Urban & Moure, 2002; Rasmussen et al., 2009). Argentina: Misiones. New records.
Remarks: Hylaeus paradoxus can be easily recognizable by the sculpture of the mesoscutum, which presents deep and transverse grooves ( Fig. 2E View Figure 2 ) ( Schrottky, 1907).
