Type Locality: "l'ile Palaouan" [Philippine Isls, Palawan].

Vernacular Names: Palawan Stink Badger.

Synonyms: Mydaus schadenbergii (Jentink 1895) .

Distribution: Philippine Isls (Palawan and Calamian Isls).

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Referred to the genus Suillotaxus by Lawrence (1939). Suillotaxus was considered a subgenus of Mydaus by Long (1978, 1981).
