Hosts. Poaceae : Agropyron Gaertn. , Dactylis L., Hordeum L., Secale L., Triticum L. ( Benavent-Corai et al. 2005), Phalaris L., Phragmites Adans. ( Nowakowski 1973) , Agrostis L., Apera Adans. , Elymus L. ( Warrington 2021). Lolium pratense (Huds.) Darbysh and Milium effusum L. are newly recorded host plants.

Mine. ( Fig. 97 View FIGURES 94–103 ) The larva forms a white linear mine near the leaf margin in a wide leaf, or a blotch in a narrow leaf. The mine can be seen equally well from both leaf sides and may contain one or two larvae. Pupation takes place within the mine.

Puparium. ( Figs. 98, 99 View FIGURES 94–103 ) Black, mirror-shining except two last abdominal segments, which are matt and finely folded; 2.2 mm long, with deep segmentation; surface smooth except for narrow wrinkled spine bands. Both posterior spiracles are set on a single wide protuberance flattened dorso-ventrally; brown, glossy, two-horned and entirely separate. The puparium (viewed from the side and above) and posterior spiracles are depicted in Nowakowski (1973: Figs. 231 View FIGURES 221–235 ). Anal plate strongly protruding above the surface of the puparium viewed from the side and directed dorso-posteriorly.

Cephalopharyngeal skeleton. ( Fig. 421 View FIGURES 421–430 ) Right mouthhook larger than the left, both angulate ventrally. Each mouthhook bears two sharp accessory teeth. Intermediate sclerite narrow, straight, 1.26× as long as maximum height of left mouthhook. The mouthhook and intermediate sclerite are strongly sclerotized, pharyngeal sclerite much less so. Indentation index 85. See also in Nowakowski (1973: Fig. 50 l View FIGURES 45–57 ).

Female head. ( Figs. 422, 423 View FIGURES 421–430 ) Yellowish-black, with proboscis and dorsal half of frons bright yellow, antenna, oc tr and postgena black; orbit not projecting above eye in profile, 2 orb s, 2 fr s; lunule narrow, semicircular, reaching the level of the posterior fr s; pped of medium size, slightly longer than high; gena medially 0.16× as high as maximum height of eye.

Female genitalia. ( Fig. 424 View FIGURES 421–430 ) Spermathecae equal in size, dark brown, oval, asymmetrical, without basal collar, 1.45× as wide as height. Entire surface of capsule irregularly furrowed dorso-ventrally. Neck of spermatheca conical, wider than long, narrowing in the direction of duct, 0.45× as long as maximum width, with additional narrow rim-shaped sclerotization slightly distanced. Spermathecal duct weakly sclerotized. Proctiger see in Sasakawa (1961: Fig. 50 h View FIGURES 45–57 ).

Distribution. Widespead Palaearcrctic species ( Papp & Černý 2016). Ukraine ( Nowakowski 1973).
