Diagnosis. This species is similar to N. fenestrata ( Gozmány, 1978) in the female genitalia, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the hindwing with a rod-like discocellular stigma, and in the male genitalia by the uncus without posterior processes, and in the female genitalia by the signum having a process; in N. fenestrata , the discocellular stigma on the hindwing is sub-quadrate, the uncus has posterior processes, and the signum lacks a process ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 31-34 ).

Description. Adult ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 12-17 ) wingspan 10.0–15.5 mm.

Head dark brown, with orange-white scales. Antenna with scape elongate, dark brown; flagellum orange white, annulated with dark brown dorsally. Labial palpus with second segment thickened, orange white mixed with dark brown scales; third segment slender, nearly as long as second segment, orange white dorsally, dark brown ventrally.

Thorax and tegula dark brown. Forewing with costal margin slightly arched, apex obtusely rounded, termen oblique; ground color dark brown, with scattered orange-white scales; costal spot small, orange white, at distal 1/5; discal stigma small, rounded, dark brown; two small orange-white spots present beyond discal stigma, located one above another; discocellular stigma sub-elliptical, dark brown, surrounded by orange-white scales; weak orangewhite dot present before tornus; fringe dark brown except basal 1/3 blackish brown. Hindwing with costal margin straight, with two clusters of dark brown scales at basal 1/3 and 2/3, apex obtusely produced, termen sinuate; ground color brown, with some scattered orange-white scales subterminally, dark brown between costal margin and M 3; area between 3A and dorsum dark brown interrupted by a narrow orange-white streak; costal spot small, orange white, at distal 1/5; sub-elliptical orange-white spot present medially below costal margin; discocellular stigma rodlike, orange white; fringe concolorous with forewing. Legs dark brown, with orange-white scales on femora and tibiae except white on hind tibia medially; mid tibia with a tuft of whorled scales apically; hind tibia with tufts of whorled scales at base and apex; tarsi orange white except dark brown at apex of each tarsomere and at base of first tarsomere of hind tarsus.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 24-30 ). Uncus broad basally, narrowed to basal 2/5; distal 3/5 quadrate, setose, coarse on posterior margin. Gnathos with basal plate quadrate and obtuse posteriorly; median process with basal half uniform, from middle tapered to apex, curved beyond middle by a right angle. Costal bar ventrally extending to distal 1/3 of ventral margin of valva. Valva fusiform, narrowed at base, widened from base to about middle, then narrowed to obtuse apex, with dense short strong setae from distal 1/3 to before apex and long setae distally; sacculus wide at base, narrowed distally, approximately 1/4 length of ventral margin. Juxta with basal part sclerotized, quadrate, im- bricated along midline anteriorly; lateral process large horn-shaped, broad at base, narrowed to obtuse apex, setose apically. Vinculum narrow, rounded anteriorly. Aedeagus slightly shorter than valva, nearly uniform, with a hooked protrusion apically; cornuti consisting of a bundle of needle-like spines, deciduous.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 31-34 ). Abdominal sternite VIII emarginated at middle on posterior margin. Apophyses anteriores approximately 3/4 length of apophyses posteriores. Ostium bursae large, sub-rounded. Antrum heavily sclerotized, enlarged. Ductus bursae narrow, approximately 2.5× length of corpus bursae; ductus seminalis slender, arising from posterior 1/4 of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae small, ovate; signum small, irregularly shaped, weakly sclerotized, densely granulous, with a triangular process posterior to middle.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Yunnan).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin fusoideus (= fusiform), referring to the shape of the valva.
