32. Cyathea borinquena (Maxon) Domin (1929a: 263) View in CoL . Alsophila borinquena Maxon (1925: 56) . Trichipteris borinquena (Maxon) Tryon (1970: 44) . Type:— PUERTO RICO. Luquillo Mountains, 600 m, 23 February 1923, N.L. Britton & E.M. Brauner 7571 (holotype US-00066206!).

Distribution and habitat: — Puerto Rico, endemic to perhumid mountain rainforest at ca. 500–1000 m.

Remarks: —A conspicuous species because of the decumbent stem and the shiny orange-brown petiole scales. Maxon (1925) specifically cites the single sheet at US as type.
