Distribution and habitat: — Jamaica, Hispaniola and Puerto Rico at 1500–2100 m in cool wet mountain forests.

Remarks: — Cyathea estelae from Jamaica and C. strigillosa from Cuba are sometimes synonymized under C. armata .
