A genus with only two species, one of which is widely distributed in the Neotropics and also occurs in subtropi- cal America (the other species occurs in the Old World tropics). Adults ( Fig. 113 View FIGURE 113 ) are normally crepuscular but sometimes fly during midday. Shallow mud-bottomed ponds and ditches are the preferred habitat. The nymph was described by Fleck et al. (2004).
