Teinopodagrion De Marmels, 2001 View in CoL

A genus of at least 25 species, with six and possibly more recorded in Ecuador (specimens of several species are yet to be resolved). Adults are dark with a small amount of blue or purple on the thorax ( Fig. 49 View FIGURE 49 ); they perch with their wings held flat. Species identification is based mainly on prothorax and male appendage morphology ( De Marmels 2001a). Nymphs live in small, forested streams, often below waterfalls, although nymphs of few species have been described.
