Type Locality: Brazil, Santa Catarina State, Joinville.
Vernacular Names: Atlantic Forest Oecomys.
Synonyms: Oecomys bahiensis ( Hershkovitz 1960) ; Oecomys cinnamomeus (Pictet and Pictet 1844) .
Distribution: Atlantic Forest Region of SE Brazil, Bahia to Santa Catarina, and along riverine forest into Cerrado and Caatinga regions; limits poorly documented.
Discussion: Member of the O. trinitatis group but size larger than O. trinitatis proper, pelage more luxuriant, and supraorbital shelves more pronounced.
