Lernanthropus mugilis Brian, 1898

Lernanthropus mugilis was collected from the gills of Liza aurata .

It was already reported on the same fish species in the Mediterranean, in particular from Italy ( Brian 1903), France (Delamare-Debouteville & Nunes 1952), North Africa ( Rose & Vaissière, 1952), Tunisia ( Raibaut et al. 1971; Ben Hassine 1974; Raibaut & Ben Hassine 1977), Tunisia, France, Turkey and Israel ( Ben Hassine 1983), Turkey ( Altunel 1983), everywhere in the Mediterranean ( Raibaut et al. 1998) and in the Adriatic ( Radujkovic & Raibaut 1987, 1989).
