Synergus japonicus Walker, 1874 . Cist. Ent. 1 (33): 309. Type material: NHMUK (holotype), paratypes in USNM according to Pujade-Villar et al. (2014).

Distribution. Japan (Kyűshű island, Ôita prefecture) ( Walker 1874; Pujade-Villar et al. 2014), mainland China (Beijing and Hunan provinces) ( Melika et al. 2004; Pujade-Villar et al. 2014), Far Eastern Russia (Primorskij Kraj, Khazan Lake vicinity) ( Schwéger et al. 2015a) and South Korea ( Abe et al. 2007).

Biology. Reared from galls of Andricus kashiwaphilus , A. mukaigawae and Biorhiza nawaii (Ashmead, 1904) on Quercus dentata and Q. serrata ( Abe 1990; Melika et al. 2004; Pujade-Villar et al. 2014).
