Plekocheilus (Eudolichotis) sinuatus ( Albers, 1854)

Bulimus sinuatus Albers, 1854: 32 . Type locality: Venezuela; lectotype ZMB 101794 ( Köhler 2007).

Material. Venezuela, Estado Amazonas, 10 km S Río Autana, 4° 44’ N 67° 33’ W, 100 m, O. Huber leg., 2.vii.1979 ( RMNH 112032 /2).

Shell dimensions are given Table 1 .

Remarks. This species is reported here for the first time from the Venezuelan Guayana area. Hitherto it was only known from the Cordillera de la Costa in northern Venezuela ( Baker 1926, Thompson 1957, Breure 1976). There it was found in cloud forest at 1000 m elevation and the current finding in the lowland was unexpected. It is closely allied to the somewhat smaller P. (E.) euryomphalus (Jonas, 1844) , which has been reported from the Roraima savannah in Guyana ( Solem 1964).
