Afroholopogon species for future description

I am aware of four additional species that will require description when more material becomes available. Details of the material are as follows.

Afroholopogon sp. A .

KENYA: 1^, ‘ Kenya 100 / Km W. Mombassa [0403 S 3940 E] / 5.xii.1989 / A. Freidberg / & F. Kaplan’. This represents the only known record of the genus from Kenya (Table 1) .

Afroholopogon sp. B .

SOUTH AFRICA: 1^, ‘ S. Africa: Northern Cape / Richtersveld, Numees / Mine. 28°18'S, 16°58'E / 16– 20.II.1979. Mal. trap / Lamoral, Bampton, Barnley’ GoogleMaps .

The only known record of the genus from the Richtersveld, an interesting arid region well known for both plant and animal endemism.

Afroholopogon sp. C .

SOUTH AFRICA:1ơ, ‘ Sth Africa: Cape Prov / Wallekraal 3017 BC / Date : 25.x.1986 / Coll. L. E. Schoeman’. This male is in poor condition. The genitalia have been macerated and found not to conform with any other species .

SOUTH AFRICA: 1^, ‘ Mkuzi 22 18/3/2005 / ° S- 27.67026 °E 32.25109 / Terminalia sericea / Woodland / Transect 1 / Earthwatch Team 11 / e408’; 1^, ‘Mkuzi 51 18/3/2005 / ° S- 27.66356 °E- 32.26732 / Acacia nilotica and Acac / tortilis Woodland / Transect 2 / Earthwatch Team 11 / e1183 ’.

This is material collected during a survey conducted at the Mkuzi Game Reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal .
