Distribution. World: Mediterranean Sea ( Della Valle 1893; Koukouras 2010), North Atlantic Ocean ( Gable et al. 2010), Ireland (Guiry & Guiry 2011), India ( Chilton 1921).

India: Eastern India Ecoregion: Odisha ( Chilton 1921 as Amphilochus brunneus Della Valle, 1893 ); Northern Bay of Bengal: Bay of Bengal ( Surya Rao 1972 as Amphilochus brunneus Della Valle, 1893 ).
