Type Locality: Madagascar.

Vernacular Names: White-headed Lemur.

Synonyms: Eulemur frederici ( Lesson 1840) .

Distribution: N Madagascar, except extreme south; Mayotte (Comoro Isls).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Lower Risk (nt) as E. fulvus albifrons .

Discussion: Regarded as a distinct species by Groves (2001 c).
