Kura and Aras River drainages in northeastern Turkey.

Note.

Both molecular ( Perea et al. 2010) and morphologic ( Küçük et al. 2014) studies suggested the synonymization of the genus Acanthalburnus with Acanthobrama . Therefore, this species is now under the genus Acanthobrama .
