Male. Body comparatively small. Fastigium verticis conical, anterior margin protruding, apex obtusely rounded. Pronotum long, anterior margin obtusely rounded, posterior margin roundly protruding; paranota longer than high, humeral sinus indicated. Procoxa with a spine, profemur with 3 stout and short spines on both ventral margins, protibia with 4–6 spines on both ventral margins. Mesofemur with 3 spines on externoventral margin, mesotibia with 8 spines on externo-ventral margin. Postfemur with 7–8 spines on externoventral margin, posttibia with 7–8 spines on both ventral margins, with one pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs. Tegmen short, covered by pronotum, reaching posterior margin of metanotum.
Tenth abdominal tergite comparatively long, basal part broad, apical part narrow, with u-shaped indentation and a longitudinal sulcus in middle; lateral apices spine-shaped, curved ventrad. Cerci long, basal half curved inwards, middle part curved backwards, then dorsally, apices acute. Subgenital plate slightly narrowed at base, apical margin concave. Style long, about half as long as subgenital plate, apex obtuse.
Body light yellowish brown. Central area of frons black, scapus brown. Disc of pronotum yellowish brown in middle, lateral margins blackish brown, paranota light. Abdominal tergites yellowish brown in middle, lateral margins brown. Spines of femora and tibiae reddish brown at apex. Cercus with apex reddish brown.
Female. Unknown.
Measurements(mm). Body 316.7, pronotum 35.0, tegmen36.0, postfemur38.0.
Type material. Holotype: male, Mengla(Menglun), Yunnan, China, 30 July, 2006, collected by Hao-Yu Liu.
Remarks. The new species differs from the known species of the genus Anelytra in: Tenth abdominal tergite comparatively long, basal part broad, apical part narrow, with u-shaped indentation, lateral apices spine-shaped, curved ventrad; cerci long, basal half curved inwards, central area backwards, apical area dorsad, apex acute.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the male’s cercus morphology.
