A mainly neotropical genus, however as well with two North American species. Currently the genus is under revision. So far four neotropical species are described ( Lundblad 1941 ; Cook 1980 ; K.O. Viets 1977). Habitat: running waters ( Figure 3 View Figure 3 ).
