Thagria periserrula Zhang 1994: 48 View in CoL –49, Fig. 44 View FIGURES 38 – 49 ; Nielson 2013: 96

Distribution. China (Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan); Laos; Vietnam.

Material examined. 2♂ 2♀, CHINA: Guizhou, Libo, Dongtang, 22 May 1995, coll. Chen Xiangsheng; 4♂, CHINA: Guizhou, Libo, Maolan, 25 May 1998, coll. Li Zizhong; 1♂, CHINA: Hainan, Jianfengling, 12 July 2007, coll. Song Qiongzhang; 1♂, CHINA: Hainan, Bawangling, 27 April 2009, coll. Jiang Xiaohong; 1♂, CHINA: Guangxi, Longzhou, Nonggang, 6 May 2012; 1♂, CHINA: Hainan, Wuzhishan, 3 April 2013, coll. Li Bin; 2♂ 2♀, CHINA: Hainan, Bawangling, 13–16 April 2014, coll. Yang Weicheng, Long Jiankun, Sun Haiyan & Xu Fangling; 1♂, CHINA: Hainan, Jianfengling, 23 April 2014, coll. Long Jiankun ( GUGC).

Variation. Based on the examined specimens, the pygofer caudoventral lobe is long and bluntly narrowed in lateral view and the segment X ventral processes are long, exceeding the apex of pygofer in specimens from Guangxi, Guizhou ( Fig. 195 View FIGURES 191 – 201 ), but in Hainan both are relatively short ( Fig. 201 View FIGURES 191 – 201 ).

Remarks. This species was described from the holotype (male) from ZSU (Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China). It resembles T. vastestyla Wang & Li, 2002 in general appearance, but differs in having the ventral processes of segment X straight ( Figs. 195, 201 View FIGURES 191 – 201 ), versus curved in T. vastestyla ( Wang & Li 2002: 2, Fig. 2 View FIGURES 2 – 5 ); the paraphysis lateral margins are toothed, without process, and the style is slender with the apex pointed ( Fig. 198 View FIGURES 191 – 201 ), whereas in T. vastestyla there are two processes on the paraphysis, and the style is broad, with apex expanded ( Wang & Li 2002: 2, Figs. 4 View FIGURES 2 – 5 , 6 View FIGURES 6 – 15 ).
