Holotype in fair condition except the left hind tarsomeres 2–5 missing, with terminalia extracted and fully visible.

Current identity: Sarcophaga (Heteronychia) shnitnikovi ( Rohdendorf, 1937) , as revised by Whitmore (2011).

Redescription of Male: Body length 11.0 mm ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 A). Eye bare, red. Fronto-orbital plate, parafacial and postocular strip black with silvery gray pollinosity; parafacial with one row of fine bristles, 2.0× as broad as frontoorbital plate. Frontal vitta black, about 1.7× as broad as fronto-orbital plate at the narrowest point; frons at vertex 0.28× head width ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 C); frontal row of 10 bristles; outer vertical bristle differentiated from postocular bristles, upper orbital bristle one. Ocellar bristles directed anteriorly. Gena ground color black, with black bristles and silvery pollinosity, height 0.23× eye height in lateral view ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 E), postgena with white bristles. Antennal pedicel yellowish brown, first flagellomere brown, not reaching the level of vibrissal insertion, 1.3× as long as pedicel ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 C, D); arista with short plumose in basal 5/7. Palpus black, slightly expanded in distal part.

Thorax ground color black; scutum pollinosity goldenish gray with three balck dorsal vittae. Chaetotaxy: acrostichals 0+1, dorsocentrals 3+3, intra-alars 0+2, supra-alars 1, postpronotals 3, notopleurals 3, scutellum with 1 apical, 1 subapical and 1 basal bristles. Pleuron with meropleurals 5; katepisternal bristles 2(3): 1, prosternum, metasternum and postalar wall with black bristles, proepisternum bare.

Wing hyaline ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 A); subcostal sclerite and basicosta yellow, bare; tegula black, with fine black bristles; costal spine differentiated; vein R1 bare, four ventral bristles at node of R2+3-R4+5, vein R4+5 setose dorsally from junction of R2+3 halfway to crossvein r-m; lower calypter yellowish white.

Legs black; fore femur with one row of dorsal bristles (about 9), one row of ventral bristles (more than 11) and one row of anterodorsal bristles (about 7), and ventral and posterior margins with short bristles in the basal part, fore tibia with one sub-median posterior and two anterodorsal bristles, and with fine yellow bristles along anterior and ventral margins; mid femur with one apical posterior, two median anterior, two apical posterodorsal and three dorsal bristles, mid tibia with one sub-median ventral, one sub-median posterior, two posterodorsal and three anterodorsal bristles; hind femur with one row of anterodorsal bristles (about 7) and one row of ventral bristles (about 5), and with fine bristles along anteroventral and ventral margins, hind tibia with two posterodorsal and two anterior bristles, one row of anterodorsal bristles (among them 2 strong), and with slender bristles along posteroventral margin.

Abdomen long oval with light gray pollinosity; tergites 1–4 with connected black stripe, syntergosternite 7+8 yellowish black, tergite 5 with complete row of marginal bristles ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 F), epandrium orange ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 B). Terminalia see Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 B.
