Etymology. The species name is a reference to the mountainous region where the specimens were collected in the Cordillera de Talamanca, Costa Rica, and Cordillera Chiriquí, Panama, which can reach up to 3491 m.a.s.l. of elevation.

Diagnosis. Males of Kiekie montanensis (Fig. 9A–B) can be distinguished from the remaining species of the genus by the rounded cymbium and small RTA, not visible in ventral view. Females of Kiekie montanensis (Fig. 9C) resemble those of K. griswoldi ( Fig. 10C View FIGURE 10 ) by the shape of the copulatory opening, but can be distinguished by the narrow base of the epigynum median field and the shape of the lateral field projections.

Description. Male (CAS). Total length 15.10. Carapace 8.30 long and 6.70 wide. Clypeus 0.45 high. Eye diameters: AME 0.35, ALE 0.32, PME 0.37, PLE 0.37. Leg measurements: I: femur 8.80/ patella 3.60/ tibia 8.50/ metatarsus 8.00/ tarsus 3.30/ total 32.20; II: 8.20/ 3.50/ 7.40/ 7.30/ 3.00/ 29.40; III: 7.40/ 3.10/ 6.00/ 6.70/ 2.70/ 25.90; IV: 9.00/ 3.40/ 9.00/ 10.00/ 3.50/ 34.90. Leg formula 4123. Leg spination: tibia I–II v2-2 -2-2-2, r1-1-0, p1- 1-1-0, III–IV v2-2 -2, r1-1, p1-1; metatarsus I–II v2-2 -2, r1-1-0, p-1-1-0, III v2-2 -2, r1-1-1, p1-1-1, IV v2-1 -1-2, r1- 1, p1-1. Palp (Fig. 9A–B): RTA spine-shaped, with bifid apex; embolus elongated and laminar, with a large base with a projection, narrowing in the middle to the tip; median apophysis elongated and slightly curved prolaterally; conductor with narrow base and large apices, covering the embolus tip.

Female (CAS). Total length 20.40. Carapace 10.30 long and 7.50 wide. Clypeus 0.50 high. Eye diameters: AME 0.42, ALE 0.37, PME 0.42, PLE 0.42. Legs measurements: I: femur 8.50/ patella 3.70/ tibia 8.20/ metatarsus 6.90/ tarsus 2.50/ total 29.80; II: 8.00/ 3.20/ 5.80/ 6.30/ 2.50/ 25.80; III: 7.50/ 3.30/ 5.50/ 6.50/ 2.40/ 25.20; IV: 9.30/ 3.50/ 6.40/ 9.70/ 3.00/ 31.90. Leg formula 4123. Leg spination: tibia I–II v2-2 -2-2-2, r0, p0, III–IV v2-2 -2, r1-1, p1-1; metatarsus I, II v2-2 -2, r0, p0, III v2-2 -2, r1-1, p1-1, IV v1-1 -1-2-2, r1-1, p1-1. Epigynum (Fig. 9C–D): median field subpentagonal, with strongly recurved openings; lateral fields with small hyaline projection; lateral projections short; copulatory ducts laminar and elongated, with one loop; spermathecae bean-shaped and elongated; fertilization ducts small.
