In accordance with the style of the work, the use of the term "AMPHIBIES" on p. 18 of the index should be interpreted as a French vernacular and not as a scientific name, analogue to "POISSONS" on the same page. But this is not ruled by the Code, so of course any interpretation can be proposed and has equal weight.
