Diagnosis.— Belostoma species can be distinguished by the following: anteoculus usually longer than interoculus, if not, then only slightly shorter; membrane of hemelytra large, its greatest width more than that of clavus, and with few veins; most hemelytral cells equal in length, unbranched, and without crossveins.
