Type Locality: SE Republic of the Congo, Brazzaville, Zoological Gardens.
Vernacular Names: Velvet African Climbing Mouse.
Distribution: Republic of the Congo, recorded only from vicinity of Brazzaville.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: A species combining features of Dendromus with those of Prionomys that is still known only by a few specimens (F. Petter, 1966 b).
