Monatractides stadleri (Walter, 1924)

Monatractides persicus Pešiċ & Saboori, 2004 , n. syn.

Material examined. Monatractides persicus , type series (see Pešić & Saboori 2004), the Museum of Natural History of Podgorica ( Montenegro).

Remarks. In the original description Pešić & Saboori (2004) mentioned that Monatractides persicus fits well the measurement variability range given for M. stadleri , but differs from the later species in the presence of knob-shaped protrusions at the margin of the gnathosomal bay. The examination of populations of Monatractides stadleri from a wide area shows that more or less pronounced knob-shaped protrusions at the margin of the gnathosomal bay are characteristic for this species. Thus, M. persicus should be considered a junior synonym of M. stadleri .
