ANURA indet. sp. B

LOCALITY AND AGE. — Pul-E Charkhi, Kabul basin, Afghanistan, earliest Pliocene, early Ruscinian, MN 13/14.

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — One fragment of tibio-fibula (AFG 1674).

COMMENTS

Generally, tibio-fibula provide poorly information for identification within anurans. The fragment from Pul-E Charkhi only shows that a frog was present. In any case, it forms the first evidence of frog occurence in this locality during the early Pliocene.
