Scatoglyphus myrmecophilus sp. nov. ( Astigmata : Scatoglyphidae ), is described based on material collected in ant nests in Buenos Aires city, Argentina, the second species of the genus and family. Juvenile instars are described for the first time in this family. The new species presents some unexpected traits, representing putatively ancestral states of some characters.
