Distribution. Listed for Europe by Nieto et al. (2014) as the European subspecies Hoplitis mucida stecki ( Frey-Gessner, 1908) , which was recently elevated to species rank by M̧ller et al. (2017). Hoplitis mucida occurs in northern Africa and the Levant.
