Dilar kirgisus H. Aspöck & U. Aspöck, 1967: 59 View in CoL . Type locality: Kyrgyzstan, Issyk-Kul.

Dilar golestani Mirmoayedi & Yassayie, 1999: 18 View in CoL . Type locality: Iran, Golestan, Almeh ( Monserrat 2005, Oswald 2019).

Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the forewing with numerous pale brown spots; the male tergum 9 with rectangular dorsoprocessus, slightly narrowed medially, widened and convex on posterior margin; the male gonocoxite 9 distally with an acutely pointed apex; the male gonocoxite 10 with blade-shaped apex and spinous subdistal projection.

Description. Male. Forewing length 7.2–11.5 mm, hindwing length 6.5–10.5 mm.

Head yellowish brown, with yellow setose tubercles. Compound eyes blackish brown. Antennal socket pale yellow. Antenna yellowish brown but brown medially, scape with a yellow annular stripe distally, flagellum pectinate on most flagellomeres, medial branches much longer than those on both ends, longest branch nearly 3.5 times as long as corresponding flagellomere, distal six flagellomeres simple.

Prothorax yellow, pronotum yellow, slightly darker on posterior portion; mesothorax yellow, mesonotum yellowish brown on anterior and lateral margins; metathorax yellow, metanotum slightly darker on lateral margins. Legs yellow but yellowish brown distally. Wings hyaline, yellowish. Forewing 3.0 times as long as wide, with numerous pale brown spots, proximal spots slightly darker, arranged irregularly; veins generally pale yellow. Hindwing 2.6 times as long as wide, almost immaculate.

Abdomen yellowish brown. Tergum 9 in dorsal view with an arcuate anterior incision, a nearly U-shaped posterior incision, and an elongate dorsoprocessus, leaving a pair of broad hemitergites, which are obtuse distally and densely haired, dorsoprocessus rectangular, slightly narrowed medially, widened and slightly convex on posterior margin ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 36–39 ). Sternum 9 shorter than tergum 9, arcuately convex posteriad and bearing long setae in ventral view. Ectoproct in dorsal view subtrapezoidal, posterodorsally with a pair of feebly tubercle-shaped projections, posteroventrally with a pair of curved bifid unguiform projections (visible in dorsal view) ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 36–39 ) and a short feebly sclerotized digitiform processus (visible in caudal view) ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 36–39 ). Gonocoxite 9 ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 36–39 ) in ventral view slightly shorter than gonocoxite 10, distally with an acutely pointed apex. Gonocoxite 10 in ventral view with acutely pointed apex and spinous subdistal projection. Gonocoxite 11 forming an arcuate sclerite, connecting to bases of gonocoxites 9 and 10. Hypandrium internum subtrapezoidal.

Distribution. Iran (Alborz, Golestan, Markazi); Kyrgyzstan (Issyk-Kul, Chuy, Jalal-Abad, Osh); Turkmenistan (Eroyulandus).

Remarks. This species can be distinguished from all the other Dilar species from Central Asia by the rectangular dorsoprocessus which is slightly narrowed medially, widened and convex on posterior margin ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 36–39 ), and the male gonocoxite 10 with blade-shaped apex and spinous subdistal projection ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 36–39 ).

Our examined specimens from Iran, India and Kyrgyzstan display intraspecific variations of male gonocoxite 10. The typical condition of the male gonocoxite 10 in this species is that the subdistal projection and the apex of this sclerite are subtriangular and acutely pointed. However, in some conspecific individuals (Figs 51–59), the subdistal projection of male gonocoxite 10 is reduced or directed posteromedially, or the apex of male gonocoxite 10 is slightly blunt. Based on our examination, no obvious geographic differences are discernable among the three areas.
