Common name. Marquia spring minnow.
Diagnosis. Distinguished from other species of Pseudophoxinus in eastern Mediterranean basin by: ● 26–33+2–3 scales in lateral series / ○ lateral line incomplete with 10–20
between posterior end of pelvic base and anus. Size up to 104 mm SL.
Distribution. Lake Eğirdir.
Habitat. Lacustrine and pelagic.
Biology. No data.
Conservation status. Extinct; disappeared after the introduction of non-native Sander lucioperca .

Distribution. Syria: Nahr al Marqīyah drainage.
Habitat. Springs and spring-fed streams with clear water and dense vegetation.

Conservation status. CR; habitat quality has deteriorated severely, and stream now has little water in summer. Pollution is a serious problem in lower reaches.
