Common name. Northern pond loach
Diagnosis. Distinguished from other species of Seminemacheilus by: ○ caudal truncate / ○ posterior naris not reaching to anterior eye margin when folded backward / ○ no black or brown dots or blotches on belly / ○ flank pattern fine mottled / ○ no central pore in supratemporal canal / ○ 5–7 supraorbital head pores / ○ caudal–peduncle depth 1.1–1.2 times in caudal–peduncle length / ○ head length 25–28 % SL / ○ snout length 38–40 % HL / ○ prepelvic length 57–59 % SL / ○ eye diameter 13–14 % HL. Size up to 77 mm SL.

Distribution. Türkiye: Lake Eymir-Mogan basins ( Ankara), Porsuk drainage, a tributary of upper Sakarya, and Lakes Akşehir, Eber, and Ilgın basins.
Habitat. Springs and streams with standing or slow-flowing water and dense vegetation.
Biology. No data.
Conservation status. VU; potentially vanished from Lakes Ilgin and Eymir-Mogan basins.
