Common name. Caspian tubenose goby.
Diagnosis. Distinguished from other species of Proterorhinus in Caspian basin by: ○ eye diameter 16–21 % HL / ○ usually 13½ branched anal rays. Size up to 90 mm SL.
Distribution View Figure . Iranian Caspian basin.
Habitat. Usually associated with dense vegetation or coarse rocks.
Biology. No data
Conservation status. NE.
Remarks. In recent molecular literature, this species has been misidentified as P. semipellucidu s View Figure , a synonym of P. nasalis or a species potentially endemic to the Iranian Caspian basin.
