Otiothops MacLeay, 1839: 12 ( type species by monotypy O. walckenaeri MacLeay ). Platnick, 1975: 5. Platnick et al., 1999: 10.

Iheringia Keyserling, 1891: 25 ( type species by monotypy I. lutea Keyserling ). First synonymized by Simon, 1895: 1068. Synonymy with Otiothops removed by Simon, 1903: 986. Re-synonymized by Platnick, 1975: 5.

Diagnosis. Species of the genus Otiothops differ from other Otiothopinae by the presence of claw tufts and closely spaced posterior median eyes (see Platnick, 1975, figs 10 and 12).
