Family Limnocharidae Grube, 1859 View in CoL View at ENA
At the larval stage, limnocharids are known to parasitize aquatic bugs ( Böttger 1972, B.P. Smith 1989a), but also Odonata ( Petzold & Martin 2004) and aquatic beetles (B.P. Smith 1989b), while adults feed on insect larvae ( Böttger 1970). Tuzovskij & Gerecke (2009) give a survey on the diversity of this fauna in Madagascar, reporting the presence of six species.
