Pycnotomina cavicolle (Horn, 1879) (NEW STATE RECORD)

Habitat and Biology: Only found in the extreme north of the state, this species is rarely collected in Georgia. While they are supposedly attracted to fermenting molasses traps ( White 1983), the two specimens from Georgia were collected in an ethanol-baited Lindgren funnel trap. Adults are active during spring and summer months. Little else is known about this species.
