Distribution and remarks: circumglobal in coastal warm temperate and tropical seas. Eastern Atlantic: known from western Mediterranean to Namibia. Observed along the coast of Gabon with adults near the coast between August and September, and with juveniles concentrated near the coast between Cap Lopez to Mayumba all year (Cardiec, Chartrain and De Bruyne, pers. obs.).
